About Me

I am from Kugluktuk, Nunavut a small Inuit community very close to the N.W.T border. My mom is an Inuvialuk from Holman Island, and my dad is originally from P.E.I. Im 25 years old and I work freelance in video production and other media forms. I love working with youth and have an active interest in Inuit culture, language and the arts.
Once graduating from Kugluktuk High School, I attended Trent University where I focused my studies on Traditional Ecological Knowledge. Although I loved it, I left after two years - I felt I needed to learn more about my culture and history - so I applied to, and was accepted into the wonderful, wonderful, amazing Nunavut Sivuniksavut program located in Ottawa, where I studied Inuit History and the NLCA (Nunavut Land Claim Agreement) and much more.
I have a beautiful baby girl named Nala Joss and I currently live in Iqaluit, the capital city of Nunavut. Ive been living here for a year and a half now - and I love it! Its a perfect mix for me...I can go out hunting, boating, camping - but I can also go out to a coffee shop with friends, or to the theatre or even out dancing! Its the best of both worlds!
