About Me |
Angela Jhanji, 19, was elected to represent the London borough of Hounslow on the UK Youth Parliament in February 2006. Over 4000 young people voted in the elections, a local record.
In November, she was elected internally to be the Procedures Group Representative for the London Region, where she took the views and opinions onto a national level.
Angela was also part of Hounslow Youth Council and has spoken at a conference with the Children's Commissioner for England, Al Aynsley-Green.
Her passion for youth activism was heightened when she was elected in the global organisation of "Glocal Youth Parliament" to represent the city of London as the first ever female delegate. She recently attended their 5th annual conference entitled "The Meeting of the Civilisations" where she spoke infront of mayors of all the major international cities.
Currently Angela is a part of UK Youth and holds the positions of Vice Chair and Trustee. She continues to expand her activism bases both nationally and internationally.
She aspires to become an international activist after completing her Politics degree from the University of Nottingham.
