About Me |
Mr. Qureshi is directly responsible for management & operation of a non-profit voluntary organization known as Eco-Conservation Initiatives (ECI) with focus on sustainable agriculture, human resource development and environmental conservation. This organization has won the certification award in internal good governance, financial management and programme delivery.
Mr. Qureshi is deeply involved in research, development and policy planning of Integrated Production and dry land farming by minimizing use of agro-chemicals based on Training of Trainers (TOT) and Farmer Field Schools (FFS) with the involvement of 200,000 farmers at the grassroots level. At present, he is running collaborative capacity building projects in partnership with UNDP/Global Environment Facility, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs (CNFA), Human Development Foundation, DEVCON-An Organization for Rural Development, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), Kuchlak Welfare Society (KWS), National Directorate of Biodiversity, Ministry of Environment and various Sugar Mills in Pakistan by managing multi-stakeholders partnership involving NGOs, government and the corporate sector. Because of his continued success in sustainable integrated production approach by manipulating cropping system patterns, The Pakistan Society of Sugar Technologists (PSST) has awarded him a Gold Medal and the honorary shield.
He has traveled extensively and possesses in-depth skills in project development, fundraising, resource mobilization, networking, lobbying, cross cultural communication, strategic planning, systems thinking, community organization, transfer of technology and to organize training workshops, seminars, symposia, long walks, hiking trips and exposure visits.
Being one of the Fellows of LEAD-Pakistan, he is also working as a Coordinator of Islamabad LEAD-Club (ILC), which is comprised of the most dynamic multi-disciplinary team of professionals emanating from 35 highly reputed national and international organizations playing crucial roles in policy advocacy for sustainable development. He is also playing an active role in Coalition of Rawalpindi / Islamabad NGOs (CORIN), Human Resource Development Network (HRDN), Adventure Foundation Pakistan (AFP), Pakistan German Friendship Association (PGFA) and UN sponsored Netaid Global Program with focus on sustainable development, education and poverty alleviation. He has also worked as a consultant to a number of organizations including LEAD-Pakistan, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Hunting Technical Services (HTS), Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) and a wide range of Sugar Mills in the corporate sector.
Currently, Mr. Qureshi is also serving as Chairman Soon Valley Development Programme, President of Parents Teachers Association H-9 College for Men Islamabad, Executive Board Member of Pakistan German Friendship Association (PGFA) and board member of Economic Justice and Development Organization(EJAD) and Kuchlak Welfare Society (KWS), Balochistan. He has attended numerous national and international workshops, seminars and meetings on environment and sustainable development. He has also organized a large number of workshops,seminars and training events for capacity building and institutionalization of small-scale community based organizations working in different geographical areas of Pakistan.
He is also member of some national and international organizations. He haspublished many research papers, consultancy reports, status reports and several training modules.
