Babu Ram Pant is a young human rights activist residing in the capital city Kathmandu and involved in several human rights movements, campaigns and development activities with Youth Action Nepal (YOAC), a youth led and youth focused non-governmental organisation from 18 months.As a volunteer, he was engaged in different campaigns, rallies, programs, workshops, trainings and conference during the period. During the time, he found himself more active and eager to work particularly on Human Rights, Social Justice, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, HIV/AIDS from rights based approach. As a member of the volunteer group, he was engaged in coordination, management of the aforementioned programs. Besides, he was also engaged in the awareness activities at the community level. He facilitated various trainings/orientation programs for youth on the contemporary human rights issues and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights including HIV/AIDS.
Currently,he is more engaged in awareness activities on HIV/AIDS among youth groups of Nepal and advocacy activities for youth friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health policies. Previously, he has a successful leadership experience working at the community level youths, as a president of New Horizon Creative Students Society for one year, in home town Butwal. There, he was involved in different social campaigns including the awareness raising activities, discussions and interactions among young students.
He is interested on Human Rights, Social Justice and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights including the issue of HIV/AIDS. Youth form a significant part of the productive population and they build the future. Thus they should be regarded as the partners of today. He believes that, to bring change in the society and development, the role of youth including others is inevitable. Youths should be therefore be involved from the planning, designing and implementation in every aspects at all level for building a better society with equal rights for all.
