About Me |
Having read profiles of others here, I don't feel I am quite worthy of being a member. So many of you at "Taking it Global" do so much to help others. But in my defence, I give regularly to charities including Oxfam and I am a member of Amnesty International.
I love travel, reading, being next to the sea, most music including world music, especially Indian, African, and Arabian.
Very interested in world event's, learning different religions and cultures.
I am married with a 4 year old daughter, who thankfully loves travel and new experiences as I do. I work within my husbands architectural business. Been vegetarian for the past 19 years.
None of my favourite books are in the reading list it seems so I thought I would add them here.
:Passionate Nomad, about the life of the Explorer Freya Stark
:The Shadow of the Sun: My African Life - Ryszard Kapuscinski
: Paul Theroux, especially Dark Star Safari about his trip from Cairo to Capetown
: Anything by Jean Sasson & her life in the Middle East
:Impossible Journey by Michael Asher, Story of he & his wife walking east to west accross the Sahara Desert
:Nights of Rain and Stars - Maeve Binchy A great lightweight book set on a Greek Island to get lost in
