 About Me |
I was born in Fondo Grande, a poor rural community in the Dominican Republic. My main professional objective is to colaborate with the development of rural communities such as Fondo Grande and other populated places in the bordier with Haiti.
I think that one of the more adequate means to promote the development of rural communities is by strenghthening the local capacity and empowering youth to involve in the process.
I graduated as Agronomy Technologist in the IPL (Instituto Politécnico Loyola), San Cristóbal, Dom. Rep., in 2004. I am currently studying Agronomic Engineering at Earth University, Costa Rica. I will graduate next december.
I am interested in Rural Sustainable Development, Organic Agriculture, Politics and Literature.
I am member of Fondo Grande Ahead Youth Organization (FOGA), which links people, ideas and resources with the development process of our community. This organization was founded in December 2007, when I organized a group of youth in the community, motivating them to take action to be part of the development of Fondo Grande and bordering zones. The FOGA directive meets two times a week and is working to achieve the goals for this year.
I am the Promotion and Communication Agent of our group. Through this position, I have worked in order to make Fondo Grande Ahead be known around the world as a youth led organization that works for the development of its community.
