Felix Mwaipunga is currently the Logistics Officer for the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo(MONUC). The United Nations Security Council established MONUC to facilitate the implementation of the Lusaka Accord signed in 1999. With a budget exceeding one billion dollars, it is the largest and most expensive mission in the United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations (DPKO). MONUC’s mandate is broken down into four phases:
Phase one involved forcibly implementing the ceasefire agreement.
Phase two involved its monitoring, and the reporting of any violations through the proper channels.
The third phase, still underway, centers on the DDRRR (disarmament, demobilization, repatriation, resettlement and reintegration) process.
Phase four, also in progress, includes facilitating the transition towards the organization of credible elections.

MONUC is placed under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. Its mandate authorizes it to use all means deemed necessary, within the limits of its capacities and in the areas of deployment of its armed units, to protect civilians under imminent threat of physical violence; and to contribute to the improvement of the security conditions. Prior to joining the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Mwaipunga served for the United Nations World Food Programme in Zimbabwe as part of the southern Africa emergency operations team since 2002. The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest food aid organization, in 2005 it r fed 104 million people in 81 countries with new contributions totaling US$2.6 billion. WFP reaches out to hungry people who cannot help themselves -- victims of war and natural disasters, families affected by HIV/AIDS and orphans who have lost their parents to the pandemic, and school children in poor communities. He has also briefly served in short term mission with other International NGOs ,AFRICARE an international NGO chaired by former South African President Nelson Mandela and COSV-Italian Solidarity. He has also served as the Regional Logistics & Administration Advisory Officer for RESPECT International, a Canadian International Organization dealing with refugees & IDP

In 2004 Felix Mwaipunga joined forces with several youths around the world to officially launch the Feed Campaign 2010. The programme is aimed at raising hunger awareness and seeking funding for humanitarian organizations involved in food aid distributions.

Both his career and his voluntary activities have reflected a commitment to improving the lives of others with a special interest in young people at risk. In 2001 he was one of the co-founder team and interim President of the Zimbabwe Youth Forum (ZYF), a national youth non-governmental organization dealing with youth issues. He was elected as Board President for the Zimbabwe Youth Forum in 2002 step down in 2005.During his tenure as President of the Zimbabwe Youth forum; he entered in partnership with other International Youth Organizations and sent youth delegates Lead by Team Leader Mr Khumbulani Sibanda to Bangkok, Thailand to represent Southern Africa Youths at the International Aids Conference.

Communities around the world are basically inhibited in their management of the pandemic by firstly a lack of knowledge or fear of knowing one’s status from which point one makes decisions of what steps to take thereafter. It thus becomes important that zero status knowledge, destigmatisation and accessing of cost effective pandemic management strategies be available on a local scale. A special representative Ms Anesu B Mhlanga also represented the organization at the BOARD THE FUTURE conference hosted and funded by Microsoft. The organization has been represented at several youth and international conference.

In November 2003 under the invitation of the Secretary General and international commissioner of the World Congress of Youth Felix Mwaipunga was offered an appointment as WCY Country representative in Zimbabwe. The World Congress of Youth (WCY) has several operations on a global scale and was foundered in 1999 by students and friends from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During the same year WCY was incorporated as a non-for-profit organization in Canada (with its headquarters in Montreal, Oubec, and hopes to secure a ‘consultative status’ with the United Nations headquarters in New York, United Sates of America (USA). The World Congress of Youth is committed to empowering youth to be more active in their communities, in their province or state, in their nation, or internationally. WCY motto is “United we stand,” the World Congress of Youth strives to achieve solidarity among the youth. WCY also champion the general interests and rights of youth in all areas and at all levels that affect them. WCY mandate is ensure that youth make a full and rich contribution to the work of the WCY and to the affairs of the community and the World. The World Congress of Youth is the brains-trust and power-station of the spirit of the youth movement.

Mr Mwaipunga has traveled to many countries and holds several undergraduate qualifications in the business field thus in Business Management; Business Administration: Marketing Management, Advertising, Public Relations and Logistics. He is currently under-taking the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a South African University.
He devotes his time writing articles on culture, he has published a number of reports, studies and articles on youth issues, conflict resolution, humanitarian affairs and culture-arts. He speaks several Africa languages (Kiswahili, Shona, Venda, Chewa, and Ndebele) and also speaks English & French .He is single
