I'm Fred Clark, from Australia. I live in Boston, USA with my wife Lisa Kelly. In 2007 I've taken a new appointment as Communications Director of Economic Development Research Group, a consulting firm of economists in Boston. EDRG specializes in transportation and economic development studies - often writing reports for government agency clients. (www.edrgroup.com) Also, my new extra-curricular challenge is coaching the Boston Women's Rugby Football Club (www.bwrfc.com). Previously, I coached Rhode Island College Men for three years. In my spare time I am a sausage grill cook at Fenway Park during the home games of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. In 2005/6 I taught English at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School near Boston. To become a teacher in 2004 I passed exams for the Massachusetts state teaching certificate in English and History. Between 2001-2004 I worked in a public relations and event management capacity on the YES Campaign, a project of Education Development Center, Inc. (www.edc.org). 2003 was a very exciting year for me because Lisa Kelly of Minnesota and I were married on September 20, 2003 in Minnesota - on a paddleboat steamer on the St. Croix River at Stillwater. About ten people from Australia and guests from 15 American states, and Canada flew in to help us celebrate. Lisa is in the photograph above - the photo was taken during a trip to Seattle in May, 2002. Lisa and I met in September 2001 at a conference in downtown Boston. Lisa gave me her telephone number and the rest is history! Telling stories is my favourite pastime, as anyone who knows me will tell you - tall tales, they will say! My training is as a journalist, and I've worked on TV programs at the BBC in London, radio in Australia and freelance magazine feature writing. I grew up on a sheep farm near a town called Yass, NSW, among green rolling hills and lots of gum trees. I went to high school and university in Sydney. After graduating in 1994 I have travelled to many countries, living and working in South Korea, UK, Mexico and the US. In 1998 I completed a Graduate Certificate in Journalism at Sydney's famous University of Technology which led to work in radio, television, magazines and public relations. My major hobbies are reading and travelling, and my favourites sports are cricket, basketball, rugby and tennis.
