 About Me |
Joao is a 21 year old Brazilian-Italian. He was born and raised in Brazil, but currently lives in somewhere in between Rome and London. Although young, Joao has accumulated impressive experience as a consultant and social entrepreneur, he has been working with youth empowerment and social change in different organizations since 1999. For six years he worked for Peace Child International, a British-based international organization that works to empower young people around the world. He worked for Peace Child in Brazil until 2005 when he was transferred for its headquarters in England to coordinate Institutional Development and PR. Joao is also a columnist for CAPRICHO magazine, one of Brazil’s most successful magazines specializing in youth issues. And writes about culture and youth issues for different smaller magazines and websites. He moderates the educational forum of the youth initiative from the Inter-American Development Bank and works as an independent consultant for different bodies, organizations and companies. Currently he is developing an in-deep research on Youth Identity and the dynamics of identification on youth engagement issues. Over the past 8 years Joao has specialized in youth identity and global issues. He has worked in 22 different countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe, becoming one of the biggest international references on youth issues and identity. His is an expert on youth, social responsibility, sustainable and eco-friendly practices, education, international development, social engagement, volunteering and also in youth identity, self-esteem, sexuality, youth-focused marketing strategies, technology and trends.
