Well, to begin I was born and raised in frigid Winnipeg, Canada. It was in Winnipeg that I first entered the world of work and gained experiences that directed me towards labour studies. I now hold a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) degree with a double major in Labour and Workplace Studies and Economics from the University of Manitoba and a Master's of Public Administration Degree (with Distinction) from the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba. During my undergraduate degree I completed a field-placement with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) where I researched the ways in which the expansion of ICTs into the production process have altered industrial relations, labour processes, human resource management and the lives of workers. Following my first degree I participated in an internship placement with UNESCO Paris, France and the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Bonn, Germany. My roles at these institutions were to bring a political-economic and labour studies perspective to the TVET projects that were being carried out. After finishing my internship I was offered the position of Programme Assistant at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre. I was responsible for aiding in the rejuvenation of the UNEVOC Network, research in the field of "TVET for Sustainable Development", assisting in the publications department and actively contributing to the Center’s projects on utilizing TVET for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of conflict-affected regions and peoples. I then returned to Winnipeg to work as an Advocate at the Community Unemployed Help Centre providing legal representation for claimants struggling with the (Un)employment Insurance program and its various levels of appeal. Following this, I moved to Ottawa where I am currently participating in the Government of Canada's Accelerated Economist Training Program. Interests: music, traveling, reading, cooking, running, hockey, weight training, fussball (table soccer), spicy eggplant and spending time with my friends and family. Na zdraví! Jordan
