About Me   About Me
Fabio is a foreign language student at the fourth year of secondary school in Milan.
I've made this choice because I think that intolerance is the heaviest obstacle for dialogue among peoples. So, it can be overcome only creating a base of common comprehension which begin from language.

Know foreign people and exploring their lands is the first step to open new perspectives, farer horizons to our mind, make in ourselves the changing we want see in the world.

I'm only 17 and my dream is travel widely all around our planet but not as a superficial tourist. I desire to live with people because “I think we can found the infinite on the face of people who have always given everything but have never nothing received” as in italian poet said.

I've admired my wonderful Italy, its millenniums of history and art, taste the flavour of its specialities, appreciate its genuineness of villagers and the colours of its landscapes but I know unfortunately its ancient problems, its corruption, its criminality, its fanaticism. I hope one day we'll not more reminded as the country of “pizza, spaghetti and mafia” because there were and there are many fair people who oppose themselves in silent to these scourges risking everyday their lives.

Then, I would like to experience in these years the way of life in my old continent, visiting Europe town by town, meeting simple countrymen, hearing their stories, relishing their rural customs and traditions.

Since I was a child I've always tried to see the reality where I live through the eyes of people less lucky than me. Perhaps because I know what means hard-ships: my family emigrated to Milan from poor countrysides where suffered hunger, my grandparents fought against the fascist dictatorship and my parents have demonstrated for the civil right and for dignity of labourers.

I think that people CAN do History.
Heros born because there's someone who hasn't done his duty, who has abdicate at his own will.
I try to give my daily contribute at best even if I know I make often big mistakes or sometimes I contradict myself.

I worked and I'm still working everyday to pull down the wall of indifference and egoism wich pervades most of youth in the industrialized countries and kills more than our bombs or guns.

As representant of student I've started and I'm prepearing projects to awake the conscience of my generation: about health, use of drugs, environment, crime, social inequities, scholar and youth policies.

Despite that, besides all my battles, I believe strongly in the importance of beauty. I think we had to teach to recognize the beauty, and we had to defend it.
I'm not an artist, I'm awful when I play an instrument, but I love nature, and I'm fascinated by the song of words, so I promote initiatives to give the opportunity to exprime our-self: writing, poetry, photography, drawing contests.

I know it's a drop in the ocean but if we join together our intelligences, our capacities and our willpowers we can fill up that sea.

I've an innate curiosity, a strong wish of truth beyond that of mass-media, and I never stop to inform myself. I read everywhere everything impress me, it doesn't matter what.
I'm particularly interested by historical and political essays, but I like thrillers, diaries of travels and far west comics.

I play basketball, I love the purity of the game, the team spirit. I could play against international teams and I've seen that sport too can destroy walls and divisions trough its values of respect.

Avidity and economic interests can be defeated only through strong common ethic values: solidarity, respect for diversities, equity, humanity, tolerance, brotherhood and collaboration among young people, who keep the push to change.

That's why when I've discovered TakingITGlobal I was inspired by its status of intercultural melting-pot and I decided to enter in the community to meet other active people all around the world.
