I am a Mechanical Engineer by profession, a graduate from Ryerson University, Toronto. Presently I work as a quality control inspector at a global automotive parts firm.
Since the age of 19, I have developed an attachment to local and international political affairs. However, being a Canadian Muslim of Pakistani origin, I do possess special interest in South Asian, Middle-Eastern and Canadian politics.
I have been deeply troubled by the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as I am with the perennial Israel-Palestine conflict, the recent Israel invasion of Lebanon, the on-going rule of corrupt dictatorships in the Muslim world, the US hegemony over all world matters, Western media's continued bias against Muslim people and Muslim states, ignorance of Africa by the developed world, among others.
On a lesser level, the Bush-like Conservative government in Canada is a major turn-off as far as I am concerned; the monopolizing and autocratic influence that energy companies around the world have; drug companies continually developing new medicines with hidden harmful side effects; naked capitalism, global warming, human cloning, are just a few issues which have been a by-product of the modern world.
I hope to use this forum to interact with various professional in different fields who feel strongly about these and other issues that grip our world and our lives.
