 About Me |
I'm Arlene and I hail from GUYANA - the only English speaking country situated on the North Eastern shoulder of the South American Continent .
The only child for my parents and a true Guyanese by virtue of ethnicity, I've had the distinct opportunity of being born to a Mother of Amerindian, Chinese and African descent and a Father of East Indian and African. This combination of four of Guyana's six ethnic groups makes me nothing else but a full blooded bona fide, 150% Guyanese for which I am very proud.
I'm a very multi-talented young woman who is self motivated, innovative and very ambitious. I've pursued studies in Computer Science and Business Management at the University of Guyana and have had "chalked up" some fourteen (14) years of work experience in IT training, hardware and software support, administration and general office management - to list a few.
Further, I've been involved in youth work since my teenage years and am particularly interested in child and youth development especially in the areas of life skills and social competencies, education, training and business skills . Hence my association with the Volunteer Youth Coprs has given me the opportunity to do what I like best - which is to interact and work with people, while pursuing my interest.
And while I still have an interest in IT, I am currently managing the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guyana In Schools Mentoring Programme, which I strongly believe is in keeping with God's Divine Purpose and Plan for my life.
