About Me

Adriana Olavarria, 20, is a senior at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service. A Culture & Politics major, she is focusing her thesis on alternative methods of development in Latin America. She is the current Vice-President of Georgetown's Latin American Student Association, and is very involved in cultural, political, and service initiatives on campus.

In 2006, she interned at CentraRSE, Guatemala's Corporate Social Responsibility organization, and her interest in development and responsible entrepreneurship developed. In 2007, she interned at MTV Latin America, where she helped promote the Agentes de Cambio initiative, shedding light on Latin American youths in community service. In 2008, she worked at Telenoticias Washington, a Telemundo affiliate, as a journalism intern, interviewing politicians and activists on issues about immigration and reform.

Adriana, de 20 años, cursa su último año en la Universidad de Georgetown. Estudia Cultura y Política, y está enfocando su tesis en métodos alternativos de desarrollo en Latinoamérica. Es la Vice-Presidenta de la Asociación Estudiantil Latinoamericana en su universidad y está muy involucrada en programas políticos, culturales y sociales en Washington.

En el 2006, trabajó en CentraRSE, la asociación de responsabilidad social empresarial en Guatemala, en dónde comenzó su interés por el desarrollo sostenible. En el 2007, trabajó en MTV Latinoamérica, promulgando la iniciativa "Agentes de Cambio", dando luz a los jóvenes latinoamericanos involucrados en el servicio social. En el 2008, trabajó con Telenoticias Washington, un afiliado de Telemundo, como asistente de periodismo, entrevistando a notables políticos y activistas sobre el tema de la inmigración y la reforma migratoria.
