Ibekwe Alexander Ogochukwu is my name, from Anambra State, Nigerian. Male, I was born on 11 July, 1980. I am currently the coordinator and the Project Director, Health Link Organization, Zonal and State Coordinator Association of Positive Youth in Nigeria (APYIN), Coordinator, coalition of Civil Society on Community Development in Aguata (COCSDA), State Coordinator Treatment Action Movement Nigeria (TAM Nigeria) P.R.O, Youth Network on HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NYNETHA) Anambra State Chapter. I am also the Ex-Offico National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Consultant for Home for Girls International (HOFORG International). I was one of the delegates at 2006 United Nation General Assembly Special Section on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS), I am one of the delegate at Young African Dialogue on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Rights in Africa. I am a valued partner to the BBC World Service Trust’s STOP HIV campaign which has reached young Nigerians since 2005 on radio, television and films. Currently I am one of the youth representatives in advisory board of Anambra State Agency for Control of AIDS (AN-SACA). I am member of various project advisory committees that include Federal Polytechnic Okoh HIV/AIDS Project, Salvation Army HIV/AIDS Project Anambra State. Qualifications I am a graduate of Federal University of Science and technology Owere (FUTO), Electrical engineering certificates. I hold numerous other certificates in many areas of population and Development courses that include: HIV/AIDS project management by UNFPA & Ministry of Health, Grant Proposal Writing by Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), Computer processing and Data Application, Interpersonal Communication and Counseling TOT (IPCC) Organized by Family Health International (IMPACT Project), Coordination and Monitoring of HIV/AIDS Programme organized by YODREDEL AFRICA, Palliative Care TOT organized by FHI/GHAIN, Media Skill on Programme presentation and production organized by UNICEF, UNAIDS, BBC and Nigerian Government, Community Palliative Care TOT Organized by Center for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA). I have undergone numerous trainings and capacity building workshop. I have also facilitated in numerous trainings and capacity building workshop. What Do I Do I am the Project manager of Health Link Organization, A non Governmental Organisation that is into Communication for Behavioral change initiatives, Promotion of HIV status awareness through HIV Counseling, Prevention of parent to child HIV transmission, Care, support and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS Community mobilization, Income generating activity, water, sanitation and hygiene education, Gender mainstreaming, Peer Education, Radio/TV talk show, Advocacy, Consultancy, Youth Empowerment, ICT in Aguata, Anambra State, Nigeria, I am also HIV/AIDS Counselor. I am NYSC master trainer on HIV/AIDS and Family Life Education peer education. I work and advocate for greater participation of youths on MDGs, ICPD and PoA. I also build the capacity of other young people and provide technical assistance to youth organizations. I have contributed immensely on building of youth networks, youth - adult partnership as well as development and growth of the many youth organizations in various capacities, building the capacities and empowering youths for self realization, development and self fulfillment.
