About Me |
I like being involved. Simply put. I like to know what's going on, and how to change things if something isn't going right, or how to congratulate if things are going well!
I love to travel and meet new people, I'm always looking for something fun to do, and new ways to keep that spark burning in me, and let me know I'm still alive!
I love music, listening to it and when I feel the urge, making it too, I also have another passion, art, this counts drama and images. I'd like to think my forte is collages, but I'll have to leave that up to the eye of the beholder, it's what I enjoy the most anyway.
I've been involved in my previous locality's youth group YISMAC (Youth In Southern Midlands Action Centre), with a national (Australian) group called Youth @ The Centre which is the beginnings of a youth philanthropy group for rural Australian youth among other things like SRC in College (high school)
I've been to the 'Young people change the world' conference in Wales, UK, which was a liberating experience, meeting young people from all over the world, who, no matter how different thay all were - all seemed to be the same as me on some level - the same common denominator - it showed me just how small and yet how large the world really is.
2005 was a blast - I was an exchange student with Rotary International in Denmark and was able to not only get involved in the culture, but also explore a few other places in Europe. Definitely a defining year for me.
Now 2006 has hit the scene, I'm studying at the University of Tasmania, first year Bachelor of Arts with Intro to Law. I'm thinking of doing a combined Law/Arts degree, but I'll just have to see how things go this year first.
Just in case you were curious, my first name is Aboriginal (though I'm not) and means fire and flame. From which dialect of the Australian tribes though, I'm not sure.
[I just have to say though... I wasn't too happy when the North American TV show 'Survivor' used my name as one of the names of their 'tribes' in the show based in Vanuatu, it sort of cheapened it a little I feel..]
The photo was taken in my first week back in Australia - when the sun was bright and it felt good to be back in a warm country.
