A TakingITGlobal member since August 2000, Andy Burnside is principal of his own fundraising consultancy The Resource Development Shop, providing general not-for-profit organizational consulting, as well as annual giving, planned giving, and capital campaign counsel.
A certified fundraising executive (CFRE), Andy’s volunteer and Pro Bono work includes 17 not-for-profit organizations including The United Way, The Ronald McDonald House and The Multiple Sclerosis Society. Permanent positions have included Campaign Director with a leading consulting firm, as well as Campaign Manager, Campaign Director and Director of Development with United Way. Since becoming an independent contractor, Andy has provided professional and pro bono fundraising consulting services to both the profit and not-for-profit sectors and is currently providing fundraising counsel to numerous organizations including the United Way. Andy has held a number of volunteer chair and committee positions and provides hundreds of hours of Pro Bono services to organizations. Burnside has raised and managed over $10M and has been participant to numerous Campaigns exceeding the $50M mark.
Andy was awarded the “most promising annual giving fundraiser award” at the recent NSFRE Congress 2000 held in Toronto, and is a Toronto Chapter member of both the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP.)
