Actualmente hago mis estudios del programa de Doctorado en Ciencias para el Desarrollo Sustentable, en la Univerisdad de Guadalajara - Centro Universitario de la Costa, Puerto Vallarta - Jalisco, México. Trabajo en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Sede Caribe - Instituto de Estudios Caribeños, en donde tengo en cargo de Profesora Asociada. Los temas de investigación que trabajo son ecología costera, pesquerías y estudios ambientales marino.
