About me
I just finished my bachelor degree with a major in geography and minor in sociology at the University of Western Ontario. My studies have given me opportunities to explore my interest in urban and social issues. I am very excited to use TakingITGlobal as a way to learn more about issues and activism around the world. It is a great chance for me to experience how online spaces facilitate interactions and connect people both virtually and physically.
I am a strong supporter of learning through travel and international experience. I have gone on exchange, backpacked around Europe, and got involved in helping other students going on exchange upon my return. I believe that learning through exploration not only provides knowledge and information that one would never encounter in the classroom or in a textbook, but it also catalyzes personal development in a much quicker and all-around manner. Everyone should be given this opportunity.
Other than my love for travelling, adventures, and exploring social issues, I also enjoy eating, watching TV, tennis, and most of all, curling. I can go on all day long just talking about or actually playing curling, but in the absence of ice in the summer, I also enjoy taking in the sun on a nice day out, preferably with some kind of snacks and cool drinks.
