 About Me |
I'm the country director for Relief International / Schools Online, Bangladesh. We're implementing an ICT-in-education project throughout Bangladesh in secondary schools. The project is aimed as much at teachers as their students, we're trying to get across some participatory and non-expositionary teaching methods in addition to our usual goals of promoting ICT in education. Our project doesn't aim to teach IT itself, but to let students learn it as they need it to complete projects. Our projects make use of our worldwide network of schools, so there is also an intercultural learning component as students from one country collaborate with students from another country over the internet. We're trying to push the project towards rural areas and places where there is inequity of access.
On the personal side, I'm something of a technology geek, which goes with the above. I like reading, computer programming and traveling.
