About Me   About Me
Founder and Director of the African Child Peace Initiative (ACPI), A Liberian youth-led peace building and community development organization. It works with young people affected by the Liberian armed conflict and their communities for sustainable peace.

Having experience war and violence conflicts during last fourteen years civil war, I spent five years as a refugee in Ghana. Despite of my status as a refugee at the time, I worked with young people and refugee families affected by the war to overcome the effects of war. Especially women and children affected by the war in Liberia, including the elderly community leaders. Coordinated and facilitated of the Liberian Tribal Leaders Reconciliation Forum in the Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana.

I served as a Member of the Tickling Poverty Together Ghana in 2005. A Team of youth working on projects gear towards poverty reduction in Ghana. It was joint initiative of the United Nation Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the National Council of the Swedish Youth council Organizations.

In December 2005 I returned to Liberia to contribute to the post-war recovery and reconciliation process by getting involve with young people affected by war and youth related issues and working with local community leaders for local development.

In September 2006 I got a grant from the United Nation Mission in Liberia for the construction of the first Multi-purpose Youth peacebuilding and Skills building Centre in Liberia, in a community once used for recruiting and drugging youth and child soldiers to perpetuate the war and violence.
Included is an ICT sector that teaches young people how to use ICT for development. With all of these big challenges, I intend using my experience to enhance work with youth in Liberia using peace building and ICT to teach young people how to use networks to achieve their goals for peace and development in post-war Liberia.

In October 2006 I was invited to the Netherlands (The Hague) to attend an expert meeting on youth network development and to the 8th African Student Conference at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS).representing the aspiration of young people peace at the grass-roots West Africa. In December 2006 I was invited to the United States (New York) by the UNICEF/UNIFPA to attend the Expert Group Meeting on youth in emergency and transitional situation, also represented the aspiration of children and young people affected by difficult circumstances and war in West Africa, Liberia.

My selection in 2007 as the National Coordinator of CLCWA-Liberia by TIG is due to my continue advocacy for youth issues especially peace and development. The project is ongoing will give many youth leaders and their constituents the opportunities to be part of the global community.

September 2007, elected to serve on the International Steering Committee (ISG) of the United Network of Peacebuilders (UNOY).I am one the the two committee members from Africa.

I am motivated by the fact that young people are the direct actors and victims of circumstances, conflicts and war. Empowering youth and using the energy of these young people for development and also getting them involve in the peace and decision making process of their communities is of great importance to me.
