 About Me |
I'm a 25 yo writer / artist / teacher / community activist. At the moment I work as a teacher in the refugee community here in Hobart, Tasmania. We have a lot of students from Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Burundi and Sudan. I teach all ages, from primary school children to teenagers and adults.
I love travelling and have worked as a community educator, teacher or artist in the following communities: Baniyala, Arnhem Land; Atitjere, Central Desert (both Aboriginal communities); Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia; and McLeodGanj, India.
My many interests include human rights & social/environmental justice, refugee issues, public health education and working with children with trauma.
In my spare time I read novels (I love Arundhati Roy, Salman Rushdie, Peter Carey, and Johnothan Safran Foer), do yoga, spend time with my friends and family, and go camping.
