I live alone, but my closest family, with whom I have an excellent relationship, consists of my past wife, parents and sister, all of us professionals with the same service vocation and desire for a fairer society. At the age of 14 a tragic event revolutionized my whole life. I was part of a brutal car accident which caused me a quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury. From that moment my life was different. I had to discover that to be able to function successfully in the world I had to fully develop all of my potentials, especially those directly unaffected by my limited body. Fall after fall, I started realizing that the outer world is a reflection of the inner reality and this is why it’s important to cultivate our own inner world. To believe it is possible, thus see it manifested. It is a clear fact that my disability brought complications to my life, but I learnt how to live with them. The first moments after the accident were very difficult and life became a great challenge. Spiritual work and the grace of meeting Sathya Sai Baba were the opportunity for something new to be born. Like a birth. I am constantly getting trained in topics related mainly to human development and to education inspired in human values. Naturally, I also attend courses and conferences on issues directly connected to globalization, marketing and business that would apparently be more related to my profession, business administration, but I think it is fundamental to concentrate on the basic values that support any technical knowledge. I attended a very wide and rich quantity and quality of universitary studies, seminars and retreats. I had the opportunity of visiting different cultures and models, and of working voluntarily in decision-making areas. These experiences confirm to me that the great change I visualize, a new paradigm that we are already living, will be possible with an open conscience towards an interaction between the good things that science and technology give us and the universal eternal truths. So we must dig into ourselves and into our relationships to realize that actually, in the small and the big things we are all part of a unity. This is why I try to integrate concepts and put them into action. I work as a volunteer in different NGOs related to issues such as leveling of opportunities, integration of disabled persons, leadership inspired by values, awareness and education for peace. In 1992 my father and I created the Grupo Sin Barreras (“Without Barriers Group”) – First integral Latin American enterprise for the Elimination of Architectonic, Urbanistic and Discrimination Barriers. This project allowed me to acquire a profound knowledge of the issues of disability from another point of view, not only from my own experience, but also from the community’s point of view. I had the chance of speaking in schools, universities and other organizations. Besides, as activists, we carry out campaigns that tend to integration, guided by this holistic vision. We implanted the issue in society and successfully put several projects into action. Later I joined in the founding of different organizations and networks such as Conciencia Sin Barreras (“Conscience Without Barriers”) -in the service of life, peace and inner freedom-, REDI –network for the rights of people with disabilities-, the Asociación Abilities Argentina (”Abilities Argentina Association”) -develops programs for a better life quality for people with disabilities-, Misiones Unidas (“United Missions”) -promotes the culture of peace-, Redepaz -Network of Educators for Peace-, Democracia Representativa (“Representative Democracy”) -educates for a better democracy-, La Argentina Posible -being with integrity-, Argentinean Coordinator of the Humanity’s Team –a civil rights movement for the soul-, Rotary International and the Mesa de Concertación Juvenil CBA ("Youth Discussion Forum of the City of Buenos Aires") -promotes the democratic participation of the young-. This list of institutions grew as I understood that life is a road and that every situation can be an opportunity. From these places we were able to lead several interesting projects that make the lives of lots of people easier and that promote enthusiasm and joy. They also contribute to the development of the Culture of Peace. For my work, I have been awarded many times. I am currently a consultant in new paradigms of integration. I develop wide and fruitful community activities in everything related to social enterprises, the strengthening of the civil society and my own search for personal development. I have been candidate for a deputy chair in the local government. I consider myself an innovator in every job or objective I set: we were the first to construct areas accessible for everybody, I fight for the defense of human rights and equality of opportunities, I take interest and participate actively in the construction of a better world, which I think will happen when we can all find richness in the differences and work from there on the unity of our common destiny: the fulfillment of every person as a complete human being. I believe that the corner stone for any initiative and the strength to achieve dreams is love. The love a family can give, your couple partner, and that which you can individually achieve serving your fellow beings and practicing spiritual disciplines. A person is much more than a body: there is a spirit, a soul, an intellect, a mind, a heart and much more. To identify a person just by their physical looks is a very big limitation, which is why we should remember that the real meaning of the term disability points out the differences compared to the standard and not the lack of something. Somebody gifted with a superior intelligence is also disabled. We must also realize that there is more than meets the eye. The present history of life shows how a difficult situation, as the one experienced since 1987, could become a great opportunity of growth. "Over the darkest clouds the sun always shines, everything is matter of flying high".
