About Me |
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 and immediately went abroad. I landed in Kazakhstan as a Peace Corps volunteer for two years, teaching accounting and management and consulting with rural entrepreneurs on small business development. During my second year, I decided to continue my involvement in post-Soviet states and applied for a government fellowship.
The fellowship, IREX Young Leadership Fellows for Public Service, allowed me to head to Krasnodar, Russia to study conflict resolution and work on a variety of conflict resolution projects. The capstone is a youth tolerance camp I created with some motivated youth of Krasnodar for the summer of 2003.
Afterwards, I went to Columbia University for graduate school in international affairs and public health, graduating in May 2006.
