About Me

I am a Inuk from a small town of 1650 to 2000 population called Igloolik, which means place of igloos. I am a graduate of Ataguttaalluk High School ans Nunavut Sivuniksavut Program under Algonquin College.

I started being involved back when i was 13 yr old. Started out with the Student council as Treasurer for three years and president after that.

I was a youth representative for the Recreation Committee, Economic Development Committee, District Education Athority, and Igloolik Interageny Committee

I was one of the founding members of Amittuq Youth Society, and was elected president for five consecutive terms. Also I was the founding person for the Igloolik Youth Council.

I like to do Inuit Cultural activities. I make traditional drums, miniature and full size. Traditional Drum Dancing is fun because it allows me to hear what my ancestors had to say about their time.

I was elected by the people of Igloolik in 2005 for Igloolik Hamlet Council as a councillor, what a expierence that was. I was appointed for the Executive Committee and chair of Recreation Committee.
