 About Me |
Itir was born in Western Turkey in 1977. She has started her youth activities in civil society in her high school days at Notre Dame de Sion French High School. She became a youth activist at the leading youth NGO in Turkey, Youth for Habitat amp;quot;Turkey while she was studying journalism and communication at Galatasaray University in Istanbul. She volunteered and worked in several multistakeholder projects for youth capacity building (with ICT) and local democracy in national level. She has represented youth in international processes such as the World Summit on Information Society. During her master studies at Universitamp;copy; Libre de Bruxelles on international politics, she started her researching career in e-democracy and e-participation. Currently she is a PhD candidate at the University of Helsinki where she is researching on the future of e-governance. She also teaches there information society and e-citizenship. She has been speaking and training in several (international) conferences, seminars, forums about youth policies.
