 About Me |
Born and raised in California, I am first generation Mexican-American. After completing my graduate degree in international policy, which was in '99, I moved to Boston to begin my career in international development. I worked with Education Development Center (EDC) for about 4 years, first within the Center for Organizational Learning and Development (COLAD) and then with the Youth Employment Summit. Youth advocacy has always been an interest and has now become a passion. Nothing else drives me more than supporting youth to become active citizens and entrepreneurs, and empowering them to create their own destiny.
Following EDC, I returned to California were I worked for CSET, as a youth job counselor for a year and a half. It was a big transition, going from working on an international level with youth from all over the world, to a local program working with you one-on-one.
I am currently back at EDC supporting the YES Campaign move into its own, becoming a global nonprofit.
