About Me |
Jon Sato has always had a focus on global issues and the international community. His cultural perspective comes from a wide variety of extraordinary people he has met across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Australia and Africa in Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Christian and secular environments.
As a teenager, Jon had everything stolen while travelling in Europe and ended up working his way back to Canada. Since then, he has helped facilitate a number of projects on several continents.
At 20, he worked on projects at IBM Canada Ltd (IBM Global Services) where he was involved with supply chain management, business process management and customer relationship management - CRM initiatives.
In Asia, his endeavours include database management and design for executive recruitment in Hong Kong and corporate class instruction at Hitachi in Japan. In India, he was working on business processes with a local consulting company in pharmaceutical services.
Within the Americas, he has worked on travel marketing in the United States, high-tech recruiting initiatives in Vancouver and Toronto and ICT projects for non-profits in Latin America. In Bolivia, the Sistema de Seguimiento project he contributed to in Sucre, Potosí and Tarija at Fundación ACLO (Acción Cultural Loyola) was arranged in conjunction with Oxfam-Québec.
Jon completed his undergraduate degree (B.A.) from York University in Toronto, Canada with a focus on international economics, finance and development. Jon recently received his International MBA degree from INSEAD, an international university based in France and Singapore.
As part of the TakingITGlobal team, he played a role as Senior Community Facilitator. His responsibilities included the administration of TakingITGlobal Terms of Service, moderation of international discussion forums and resolution of member conflicts.
