 About Me |
Hi! Well here’s a little bit of info on me, I have an Honours of Science degree specializing in Biotechnology from the University of Toronto and presently I am pursuing a double major in law and society and psychology at York University.
I very interested in Social Justice Issues such as cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue among peoples and civilizations, peace in conflict, poverty eliminatation, disease prevention, and sustainable development. For over three years I have been fortunate enough to be a member of an amazing social justice committee (Hart House Social Justice) at the University of Toronto where I have lead and participated in some amazing opportunities.
I also like discussing political, social, spiritual, and just about any kind of issue… with just about anyone because I think open and peaceful debate enhances a person’s personal growth in a positive and meaningful way. In my opinion, meeting people and sharing your life stories, thoughts, and feelings is one of the most rewarding things someone can do in life.
Some other things I’m interested in include: learning French as a second language (C'est bon!). As well as challenging myself (even though I don't always show it;), which often results in me getting involved in activities that unexpectedly change my persepctive on life's challenges, rewards, and grand purpose.
I think that this website is a great resource for youth to have in this "information age." Not only is this one of the only websites whose sole agenda is youth empowerment opposed to the franchising of youth; this site gives youth the opportunity to reach other youth through the power of thought, creativity, and reflection, which are terms that have rarely been used to describe the actions of the world's youth.
It is because I am a member of the TakingITGlobal community that I have truly begun to feel like not just a Canadian citizen, but as a global citizen as well!
