About Me |
I joined TakingITGlobal in February 2006, when I started as a co-op student as part of a volunteer to work program organized by my high school. I assisted with the management of the Online Community for the duration of the placement, until June 2006, when I came on full time to continue my work over the the summer. In September 2006, I changed roles, becoming the Education Program Assistant for TIGed (www.tiged.org). I also facilitated with pre-launch preparations for Understanding the Issues (www.takingitglobal.org/understand/). I worked with TIGed up until March 2008, and am still connected to this incredible organization in my role as an Issue Editor for the Learning and Education section of Understanding the Issues.
I'm entering into my first year of studies at OCAD, majoring in Graphic Design, in September 2008. I transfered from the International Studies program at York University's Glendon College, and in the future I plan to converge my interests in graphic design and international issues, social networks and youth activism to design meaningful, relevant work that, in some small (and maybe eventually big) way, will improve our collective society.
Some of my interests in addition to the aforementioned; art, visual culture, typography, photography, literature, post-rock and hardcore music, collecting vinyl and silkscreen prints, vegetarianism, clean & green living, animal rights, film, and travel.
