About Me

HI - Len Tooley here! I am the Assistant Coordinator of the Youth Programme for the XVI International AIDS Conference, which will be held on August 13th-18th 2006 in Toronto, Canada! I will be working to promote youth inclusion in this year’s conference. This will be my first time attending the International AIDS conference and I am really excited to be a part of it!

My introduction to HIV/AIDS work started at Toronto's Hassle Free Clinic, a community-based clinic providing testing and treatment for HIV and other STIs. Through the University of Toronto, I then spent two months in Windhoek, Namibia where I researched the status of HIV anonymous counselling and testing. Soon after I graduated from a program in genetics and anthropology at U of T I travelled to Thailand where I spent 6 months in Bangkok and surrounding provinces conducting public health research on youth's access to sexual health information and services.

I'm very happy to be here and cannot wait to meet everyone at the conference!
