About Me

Oi... I am the founding member of NGO Academia de Desenvolvimento Social (Social Development Academy Institute) - www.academiasocial.org.br -, which since 1999 promotes youth social entrepreneurism. 'Academia' has a daily newswire service with over 2,000 subscribers and provides training on project management to Brazilian non-governmental organizations. The main project being running by 'Academia' today is called 'Social Incubator Towards Youth Action'. I used to be engaged in lots of events and organisations, as the Volunteer Centre of Recife, where I used to be its executive co-ordinator for two years. The main international activities I've been involved on were the Forum 2000 and the Students' Forum 2000 Initiative, in Prague/Czech Republic (www.forum2000.cz and www.sforum.net); the International youth Parliament 2000, in Sydney/Australia (www.caa.org.au/parliament); the Youth Workshop (www.echo.org); and the Youth Action Net task force (www.YouthActionNet.org), in Baltimore/USA. Through my involvement in both the national Brazilian Youth Workshop Network and the International Youth Parliament 2000 I've had the opportunity to translate local initiatives into global action.
