About Me

Am called Serebe Ivan aged 27 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in Urban planning, currently heading a care home - Palflex Health And Development Care Home (PHAD care home) which is Community based care home was initiated to assist poor, orphaned children and other vulnerable groups of children and youth who have lost hope in their lives.

The care home is located in Nakulabye Parish one of the most densely populated slum areas in the Northern part of Kampala District.

In 2006 I was unanimously elected Executive Director of Palflex Health and Development Care Home (PHAD care home). This is a community based organization which was established in 2004 by a group of fresh college graduates who saw and were moved by the plight of children around them(while staying in hostels pursuing their university degrees) it was registered and given a mandate to operate in the slum of Nakulabye Parish Rubaga Division. The prime objective of establishing this organisation was to promote human values for young people in Uganda. In view of building sustainable Community Development with improve standard of living.

VISION
Garner resources through conscious effort to find lasting solutions to the challenges threatening the lives and livelihood of the vulnerable children and youth in our society
MISSION
• To provide a livelihood for every child at risk, for it is their birth right.
OBJECTIVES
• To provide safe Night Shelters and Day Care Units for "vulnerable Children".
• To provide the best possible medical facilities.
• To provide love and affection.
• To provide education in basic reading and writing
• To work towards ending child labour

PHAD care home is in Nakulabye Parish which is the second populated parish in Uganda. The parish has been affected with an Aids Epidemic which has killed a lot of people, leaving Most of the children orphaned and many youth unemployed because they don’t have skills.
