 About Me |
Stephen is an ITMC holder from New Jersey Institute Of Technology and now working with Straight Talk Foundation (www.straight-talk.or.ug) as the assistant IT.
Stephen is currently GYCA’s regional Focal Point Person for East Africa. He has keen interest in working with, and for young people. Stephen is an active member of other youth networks, which include: Advocates For Youth, Network for Adolescents and Youth of Africa (NAYA) as Straight Talk Foundation’s focal point and UNICEF Voices of Youth.
He has four years’ experience in HIV/AIDS work, working with youth both in and out of school, urban and rural in Uganda, including those directed affected by the rebel activities in the Northern part of the country.
He has skills in Project Management and Political Advocacy, attained trough the
E-courses provided by GYCA.
Stephen has been a speaker on a number of conferences including the International Students Conference on HIV/AIDS (ISCA 2005) where he presented a paper on “AIDS and the Youth: what they know and what they need to know”, Highway to Africa 2006 (“THE VULNERABILITY OF YOUTH TO HIV”), BARA University Students Campaign: Giving University Students methods that Work in the fight against HIV. He was also invited as a youth representative on Uganda’s delegation to the 2006 UNGASS.
